First of all, the animation is wonderful, beautiful atmospheres, cute and beautifully drawn characters and stunning colours. The sceneries and sights are also fantastic, down to the colour and visual detail are just perfect. It is also combined by some perfect background music that sounds stunning and it supports the atmosphere in several scenes. This movie also kinda imaginative yet still realistic especially when it comes to animal speaks,in this movie the animals not necessary talk. As we know that usually especially in animated movie things just doesn't make sense,so.
Another thing that makes "Up" work so well is the focus on very few characters. Up spends majority with Carl, Russell, a bird named Kevin and a talking dog named Dug. It still allow more characters to enter in later on, but the focus never strays from these main characters. This movie succesfully lead the viewers to imagine and carried away by emotions. The fact that it also made the viewers feel the atmosphere of adventure is also the plus point, they really nailed it.
